OnStream TV Technical Specifications
Why use the TV specific version?
While the mobile version of OnStream works perfectly on smartphones, it requires touch inputs. If you sideload the mobile version onto a television, you will need a virtual mouse toggle to click the buttons.
The Android TV version solves this completely:
- 100% D-Pad Compatible: The entire interface is built to be navigated using the up/down/left/right buttons on your standard television remote.
- Landscape Orientation: The UI is natively locked in landscape mode, fitting your 16:9 widescreen display perfectly without black bars or stretching.
- Leanback Launcher Integration: The app icon will appear normally on your Android TV home screen, unlike mobile apps which require a third-party sideload launcher to be visible.
Alternative Installation: The Downloader App
If you do not want to use your smartphone to send the file via SFTV, you can download the APK directly onto your television using the famous "Downloader" app.
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android TV and search for an app called Downloader (by AFTVnews) and install it.
- Before opening it, go to your TV's Settings > Device Preferences > Security & Restrictions.
- Turn ON the toggle for "Unknown Sources" next to the Downloader app.
- Open the Downloader app and select the URL search bar.
- Type in the shortcode: 667788 (or type our full URL: get.onstreamza.com) and press Go.
- The OnStream TV APK will automatically begin downloading to your device. Once finished, click Install.
How to Install on Android TV
Since smart TVs don't usually have web browsers, the easiest installation method is to use your smartphone to send the OnStream file to your TV via Wi-Fi.
Get "Send Files to TV"
Open the Google Play Store on both your smartphone and your television. Search for and install the free app called Send Files to TV (SFTV) on both devices.
Download the APK
Using your smartphone, scroll up and click the purple Download TV APK button to save the installation file to your phone's local storage.
Transfer the File
Ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Open SFTV on your TV and select Receive. Then, open SFTV on your phone, tap Send, select the APK you downloaded, and choose your TV from the list.
Install and Enjoy
Once the transfer completes, you will need a file manager on your TV (such as File Commander). Navigate to your TV's Downloads folder, click on the OnStream APK, and select Install. You're done!

Is OnStream free to use on Android TV?
Yes, it is 100% free. There are no subscription fees, hidden costs, or premium tiers required to watch movies and shows.
Do I need a VPN to use OnStream?
